He worked for many years for his cousin, Col. Ralph Robinson Maltby, when he owned a store in Washington, Ky., and he mar. the sister (his first wife's sister) of the wife of Col. R.R. Maltby.

They moved to Kansas soon after his 2nd marriage. He d. Dec. 24, 1899, bur. at Goffs, Kansas. His widow moved to Oklahoma in 1902 and d. May 7, 1919, bur. at Sharon, Oklahoma.
